Principle:

In the presence of molecular oxygen, glucose is oxidised by the enzyme glucose oxidase to gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide:
 

Under the conditions of the assay, oxygen consumption is directly proportional to glucose concentration.
 

Samples:

Any suitable homogenous biological fluid or aqueous extract. Gross particulates should be removed by course filtration or centrifugation. However, turbidity or opacity does not cause interference.
