Technical Summary: Lactate
Analysis (Bulletin ref. TB098720C) |
|
|
A rapid
high performance analysis for lactate in whole blood, plasma or
serum, based on the direct reaction with Lactate Oxidase (LOD). |
|
|
Name: |
Lactate
(II) |
|
Instruments: |
All
GM7/LM5/GL5 Series analysers |
|
Principle: |
In
the
presence of molecular oxygen, lactate is oxidised by the enzyme
Lactate Oxidase to pyruvate and hydrogen peroxide: |

|
Samples: |
Intact
whole-blood and lysed whole-blood (collected in Analox tubes or
capillaries), plasma, neutralised perchloric acid extracts and other
aqueous media. Quality Control Serum and sample record cards for
attachment and identification of capillaries are available. |

Sample
volume: |
5 µl
or 7µl (variable 3.5 - 25 µl) |
|
Linearity: |
10 mmol/L
(7 µl sample); 90 mg/dl |
|
Accuracy: |
i) Whole-blood
comparison vs YSI 23L: |
|
Reagent Stability: |
Shelf-life 1
year unopened when stored at 0 - 5°C, 60 days after reconstitution,
when stored at 0 - 5°C between use. Can be frozen for extended life. |
|
Notes: |
i) Lactate
methodology has excellent precision at all levels, stable calibration,
and is remarkably free from interferences. |
